Data Storage
All your data is stored locally on your device. Track My Miles does not sync to any cloud service. Your trips, receipts, and reports exist only on your phone.
What Data is Stored:
- Trip Records: Start/end locations, distance, date, purpose (optional), and GPS coordinates
- Fuel Receipts: Scanned images and OCR-extracted data (station, amount, date)
- App Settings: Your preferences and configuration
- Reports: Generated CSV and PDF files saved to your chosen location
Permissions Explained
📍 Location (Always / When in Use)
Required for GPS-powered automatic mileage tracking. The app tracks your location only when you're actively recording a trip. Location data never leaves your device.
📷 Camera
Used to scan fuel receipts. Images are processed locally on your device using on-device OCR. No images are uploaded to any server.
📁 Storage / Files
Used to save your exported reports (CSV/PDF) to your device. The app only accesses files it creates.
Data Export
You can export your data at any time:
- CSV Reports: Spreadsheet-compatible format for expense tracking
- PDF Reports: Professional format for submissions and records
Exported files are saved to your device and can be shared via email, cloud storage, or any app you choose.
Data Deletion
You can delete your data at any time within the app:
- Delete individual trips or receipts
- Clear all trip history
- Reset the app to default settings
Uninstalling the app will remove all app data from your device.
No Cloud, No Sync
Track My Miles is designed to work entirely offline. There is no:
- Cloud backup of your data
- Account system or login
- Sync between devices
- Remote access to your information
⚠️ Important Note
Because data is stored only on your device, if you lose your phone or uninstall the app without exporting your data, your trip records cannot be recovered. We recommend exporting regular backups.
