Privacy Summary: Track Drive Mileage stores ALL data locally on your device only. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your data on external servers. You have complete control over your data at all times.
Data We Collect
Location Data (Precise & Approximate)
Track Drive Mileage uses your device's GPS to record trip start and end locations for mileage tracking. This is the core functionality of the app. Location data is stored exclusively on your device in a local database and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
- Type: Precise location (GPS coordinates) and approximate location (addresses via geocoding)
- Purpose: Calculating mileage distance and recording trip start/end addresses
- Storage: Local device database only
- Shared: No - never shared with any third party
- Required: Yes - this is essential for the app's core mileage tracking function
Camera / Photos (Fuel Receipt Scanning)
The app can use your device camera to photograph fuel receipts for OCR (optical character recognition) scanning. Photos are processed locally on your device to extract fuel cost information. Photos are used temporarily during the scanning process and are not permanently stored by the app.
- Type: Camera images (fuel receipts)
- Purpose: Extracting fuel cost data from receipts via OCR
- Storage: Temporary/ephemeral - processed locally and not permanently retained
- Shared: No - never shared with any third party
- Required: No - this is an optional feature; users can enter fuel data manually
Trip & Fuel Data
The app stores trip records (dates, times, distances, addresses, travel reasons) and fuel refueling logs (costs, gallons, odometer readings) that you enter or that are recorded during tracking. All of this data is stored locally on your device.
- Type: User-entered trip and fuel expense data
- Purpose: Providing trip history, expense reports, and mileage summaries
- Storage: Local device database only
- Shared: No - never shared with any third party
Data We Do NOT Collect
Track Drive Mileage does not collect any of the following:
- Names, email addresses, or other personal identifiers
- Financial account information (credit cards, bank accounts)
- Device identifiers (IMEI, advertising ID, etc.)
- Browsing history or app usage analytics
- Contacts, calendar, or other device data
- Crash logs or diagnostic data sent to external servers
Third-Party Services
Track Drive Mileage uses the following third-party services:
- Google Play Services (Location): Used to access device GPS for location tracking. Google Play Services operates under Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google ML Kit (Text Recognition - Unbundled): Used for on-device OCR processing of fuel receipts. The unbundled version processes text using Google Play Services on the device. No images or text are sent to external servers by the app.
Data Encryption & Security
All data is stored locally on your device and is protected by your device's built-in security features including:
- Device screen lock (PIN, pattern, fingerprint, face unlock)
- Android's built-in file system encryption
- App sandboxing (other apps cannot access Track Drive Mileage data)
Any communication between the app and Google Play Services (for location) uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
How to Delete Your Data
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control over your data at all times. There are several ways to delete your data:
Option 1: Delete Individual Records Within the App
Remove specific trips or fuel entries while keeping the rest of your data.
- Open the Track Drive Mileage app
- Navigate to your Trip History or Fuel Log
- Select the individual record(s) you want to delete
- Tap the Delete option to permanently remove the selected record(s)
Option 2: Clear All App Data (Cache & Storage)
This removes ALL app data including all trips, fuel logs, settings, and cached files. The app will be reset to its initial state.
- Open your device Settings
- Go to Apps (or Apps & notifications)
- Find and tap Track Drive Mileage
- Tap Storage & cache (or Storage)
- Tap "Clear cache" to remove temporary files
- Tap "Clear storage" (or "Clear data") to remove ALL app data
- Confirm when prompted
Warning: This action cannot be undone. All trip records, fuel logs, and app settings will be permanently deleted.
Option 3: Uninstall the App
Completely removes the app and ALL associated data from your device.
- Open your device Settings
- Go to Apps (or Apps & notifications)
- Find and tap Track Drive Mileage
- Tap "Uninstall"
- Confirm when prompted
Alternatively, you can long-press the app icon on your home screen and drag it to "Uninstall."
Option 4: Contact Us for Assistance
If you need help deleting your data or have questions about what data the app stores:
- Email us at DeadCenterApps@gmail.com
- Include "Data Deletion Request" in the subject line
- We will respond within 7 business days with instructions or assistance
Important: Because Track Drive Mileage stores data only on your device, we (Dead Center Apps) do not have access to your data and cannot retrieve it remotely. Once you delete your data using any of the methods above, it is permanently gone. We recommend exporting your trip reports (CSV or PDF) before deleting data if you need to keep records.
Data Retention
Track Drive Mileage retains your data on your device for as long as you choose to keep it. There is no automatic deletion period. You control when data is created and when it is deleted. If you uninstall the app, all data is immediately and permanently removed.
Children's Privacy
Track Drive Mileage is not directed to children under 13. The app does not collect personal information from any user, including children. If you believe a child has used the app and you have concerns, please contact us.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Data & Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
